Have you ever had to write a self-review?

Reviewing yourself can be tricky. It’s a way to clearly point our your accomplishments but also signal areas for growth.

A well written self-review should always set you up for success in future quarters.

Be thorough.

Try using bullet points to write out your specific accomplishments, and areas for growth (keep track during the quarter).

Don’t downplay your success.

It’s hard for most people to brag, and causes us to leave things out of a review that our boss might not have noticed.

Definitely don’t downplay your failures.

Your boss already knows what didn’t work. So take the opportunity to show your boss you’re great at taking ownership.

Another reason to be thorough in your list of accomplishments!
